Ag Choice Soil Products
Ag Choice can help bring your soils back to life the way nature intended.
Coir.
Coir is a multi-purpose soil conditioner and growing medium. It is a 100% natural renewable resource produced from the husks of coconuts. It is consistent in texture and size and has consistent chemical properties, making it an excellent alternative to other growing media. Coir is sold in compressed (5:1) blocks and can be sold individually or stacked on a pallet and shrink wrapped. Each block when hydrated is equivalent to 2.5 cubic feet of material. Call for pricing.
Humus Compost.
Ag Choice Compost has been approved for use in organic production and meets a stringent set of guidelines, as established by the USDA, Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA-NJ). Using compost instead of chemicals can reduce water pollution and create a better, safer, and cleaner environment for all of us.
We start with clean organics collected from our local communities such as livestock manure from farms, fruit and vegetable culls, bread, and floral waste from grocery stores, and organic processor waste such as spent nuts and leaves. We then follow an actively-managed aerobic (with oxygen) form of composting to transform these organic materials into a humified compost full of beneficial microbial life.
Top Soil.
OurTop soil is made by blending our high quality humified compost with a sandy clay loam to create a premium finished product that is friable (easily crumbled), free of rocks and debris, and easy to handle. Custom blends are available.
Our soil products are available in bulk and bagged. Call for pricing, delivery options, and availability.
Cocoa Shell Mulch.
National Cocoa Shell is the largest distributor of cocoa shell in the United States. Made from the shell of cocoa beans during the roasting process, cocoa shell mulch is excellent for retaining water, forming vital nutrients.
Although it has been used for many years with traditional rose growers, aromatic cocoa shell can be used anywhere in your landscaping, garden, or flower beds.

Here’s what people are saying about Ag Choice’s high quality, all natural products which have been approved for use in organic production:
“Just want to thank you both for supplying us with the most beautiful material garden food we’ve ever seen. Your excellent compost has benefited our organic farm fields and crops. Our soils in Sussex County are heavy clay-silt-loam. We’ve used manure in previous years but the weed seed is a major problem. We are really impressed with how it’s improved the friability of our crop land. We’re experiencing phenomenal success with pepper, tomato and eggplant this season… due to the incorporation of your compost in each bed”
Les & Deb Guile, Walnut Grove Farm
Augusta, NJ 973-383-5029
“As a landscaper in Northwest New Jersey, we work with all different qualities of soil during excavating and plantings. Last year, before using Ag Choice, we experienced a lot of plant loss and had to spend several thousand dollars to replace dead foliage, since we warranty customer plantings. Since switching to the Ag Choice products, we have not had any loss of plants, and the grass and sod that has been installed has grown beautifully, almost immediately. I am willing to pay a little more because Ag Choice has increased my bottom line and I know I won't be replacing anything, which ensures customer satisfaction… priceless!”
Reneé Waid, Grey Rock Hardscapes
Andover, NJ 973-229-1721
“I consider compost to be the ultimate mulch material. While it provides the benefits of other mulching materials… compost also adds invaluable nutrition back into the soil. Adding compost to the garden (digging it in every fall and spring or using a thick layer as a mulch) is the best thing you can do for your garden. I was very pleased to learn about a local company, Ag Choice, that is creating ‘black gold’ we can buy in bags or have delivered in bulk. … I am eager to get their compost into my garden.”
Vicki Johnson
Gardening Columnist for the New Jersey Herald
“I started using Ag Choice products about five months ago and noticed an immediate improvement in the health and growth rate of our plants, and they are finishing weeks ahead of schedule. We were able to cut back our use of fertilizers and chemicals, as well as cutting our material costs by 67%. Jay and Jill have developed a fantastic, innovative product that is extremely beneficial to the entire agricultural industry.”
Glenn Pfeifer, Glenn Brook Nursery
Lafayette, NJ 973-383-9908
“I have been using Ag Choice compost as part of my mix (about 50%) and saw a significant growth rate in the pansies in 2007. I’m looking forward to using the mix with bedding plants.”
Bob Cahill, Cahill’s Farm
Andover, NJ 973-786-5429
“Their compost would be a great option to consider for farm markets that sell top soil and other soil amendments.”
Gabi Grunstein, New Jersey Farm Bureau
