Delivery Questions

Q: Do you deliver?

A: Depending on your delivery location, Ag Choice can deliver 15 yards or more.

Q: What if I need less than 15 cubic yards of material?

A: Ag Choice works with garden centers in Bergen, Essex, Monmouth, Morris and Sussex counties. Depending on your location you may be able to pick up material at these garden centers or make arrangements with them for a local delivery. Q: What size is your delivery truck?

A: Ag Choice has a variety of trucks to make compost or topsoil deliveries. Our smallest truck is a tandem axle truck with a 20 cubic yard container as a max. Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 44,000 lbs. Our largest truck is a Peterbilt tractor trailer with a maximum GVW of 80,000 lbs. We have a 100 cubic yard walking floor or a 40 cubic yard dump trailer.

Order Size Questions

Q: What is the minimum order amount?

A: Depending on your location our minimum order amount will either be 15 or 30 cubic yards of material.

Q: What is the maximum amount of material you can get in one truckload?

A: The maximum amount of compost for any one delivery is 30 cubic yards. The maximum amount of topsoil for any one delivery is 30 cubic yards.

Material Questions

Q: Are your compost and topsoil products organic?

A: There is currently no “organic certification” for compost. “Organic” technically refers to any material that is carbon-based. Organic standards vary, but generally include the prohibition of synthetic chemicals, irradiation, sewage sludge, or genetically modified organisms

Q: What is your compost made of?

A: Our compost is made with a diverse number of feedstocks such as the various food waste materials we bring in including fruit and vegetable culls, coffee chaff, leaves, animal manure, wood chips, and plant-based organics like kidney beans and rice hulls.

Q: Is your topsoil organic?

A: Ag Choice topsoil is comprised of 75% of our high quality humus compost and 25% of a sandy loam. Our compost is made following criteria established by the National Organic Program (NOP) standards as governed by the US Department of Agriculture.

Q: How much organic matter is in your topsoil?

A: Ag Choice topsoil is made with 75% of our high quality humus compost. This compost is teeming with mircrolife and has an abundance of organic matter.

Q: Do your landscaping products have chemicals in them?

A: Ag Choice prides itself  in not using any chemicals in our composting process. The materials naturally decompose based on the specific proportion of carbon to nitrogen contained in each of the feedstocks we collect.

Q: What is the difference between Ag Choice compost vs. other compost products?

A: The more diverse the inputs are; the more diverse the beneficial microorganisms are in the finished material. Ag Choice is the only composter in New Jersey permitted to compost food waste and animal manures in addition to leaves. All other composters in New Jersey compost some variation of leaves, grass and brush.
